Dietary Department
Overview
The Divine Word Hospital Dietary Department is composed of Registered Nutritionist-Dietitians, Cooks, and Food Service Attendants/Dietary Aides whose main goal is to offer a wide range of services that may help patients in their recovery through a healthy and well-balanced diet.
The department provides appetizing, palatable, and nutritionally adequate meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and sometimes snacks, while strictly adhering to physician-prescribed diets and budget constraints.
We make sure that admitted patients are given the utmost care through their diet. Food Service Attendants or Dietary Aides, with the guidance of the Food Administrative Dietitian on duty, serve patient diets based on each patient's condition and physician's diet prescription.
Meal Delivery Time:
- Breakfast: 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM
- Lunch: 11:00 AM to 12:00 NN
- Dinner: 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Things patients and watchers should take note:
- Keep the food tray in your room. If food is not yet consumed during tray collection, watchers may transfer the food to their own containers and hand-carry the tray to the Food Service Attendants.
- Consult your doctor or nurse before eating food aside from meals served by the hospital.
Oral/Enteral Nutrition Formulas are usually given to patients on Nasogastric Tube Feeding (NGT) to assist them in their nutritional build-up and fast recovery. Dietitians assess the patient's condition to determine what type of Oral Nutrition Formula should be provided based on computed daily calorie and protein needs, tolerance, and disease condition.
